Memorial Day

Gratitude. That was the overwhelming feeling that washed over me when I paused to reflect one Veterans Day a couple years ago at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The relative intimacy in the above photo contrasted against the vastness of Arlington National Cemetery drove home the personal and community impact of the sacrifices made to keep us all free.

The enormous scope of collective sacrifice greatly and positively impacted our country and freedom today. As we show gratitude today I ask you, dear reader, to also remember the individuality of that sacrifice and its lasting impact on spouses and families.

A heartfelt thank you to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We walk the trail you blazed with gratitude and hope in our unwavering commitment to form a more perfect Union.

Lessons from my mother

I launched this blog in February with the vision of virtually mentoring and coaching others. At the time, I couldn’t have envisioned the loss of my mother in early April. Nor did I anticipate the effect that would have in all areas of my life.

I still can’t fully express how I feel; however, I am greatly impacted by the lessons she taught me and owe my success to her guidance, love, and support.
